Hit-a-Thon & Block Party on June 19

On Saturday, June 19th, HTRBA will be holding its 2nd Annual Hit-a-Thon fundraiser from 11 AM to 3 PM.  This event has quickly become one of the league’s most successful fundraisers.  It funds important items like equipment, uniforms, training clinics, and field maintenance for the players in our league, as well as other league initiatives.  This year, the Hit-a-Thon will be part of a larger HTRBA Block Party, with food, music, vendors, games, and special activities -- including a dunk tank -- for players, coaches, and parents alike. It will be an end-of-the-season celebration, as we get ready for tournament play.

For more than 60 years, HTRBA Little League has been a stalwart youth baseball program in the Hamilton community, providing children with a wonderful opportunity to play baseball.  Our value comes in bringing friends and families together, and guiding our kids to be good people; not just good players.  Delivering that value is easier said than done.  We are a volunteer-based organization and highly dependent on the goodwill of our families, friends, and local business partners for support.  We have been fortunate to have enjoyed such support for six decades and expect that tradition to continue.

How it Works

The HTRBA Hit-A-Thon is a league fundraiser similar to a walk-a-thon.  It is open to HTRBA Players, Coaches, and Volunteers.

Each participant solicits sponsors who pledge to make a tax-deductible donation to HTRBA.  Sponsors can make a pledge per-hit or a flat donation on behalf of the player.  Participants will come to the plate for 10 swings and total hits will be tallied and recorded on the participant’s pledge page.

ALL HTRBA players, coaches and volunteers are encouraged to participate in this event.

Online Fundraising

To make collecting pledges easier for everyone, we have enlisted the services of 99Pledges.  Each player will have their own personal pledge page.  Players will receive an email invitation to their page.  You may visit the 99pledges website and search for your player.

99Pledges allows you to reach out to family and friends across the world via email and social media.  The site also allows sponsors to pledge via credit card using a secure site.

Goal

Our goal is to raise over $25,000 with 100% player participation!

Youth Participants raising more than $25 will receive

  •  HTRBA Hit-A-Thon Event T-shirt
  • Snack Stand voucher for a Hot Dog, Fries, & Slushie

What to do Next

To make sure your fundraising campaign is as successful as possible:

  1. Send emails to at least 20 of your friends and family members asking them to sponsor your player.
  2. Make your own donation
  3. Post your player’s pledge link on your social media (don’t forget to add pictures!)

Hit-a-Thon and Block Party Event

The Hit-a-Thon & Block Party will take place on Saturday, June 19th.  Players unable to participate on June 19 can participate on Friday, June 18 or at their team’s weekly practice.

Please come out and show your support for HTRBA.  Watch the kids swing for the fences, enjoy food from our snack stand, congratulate our special awards winners and division champions, and have fun!
