HTRBA Wins 1st Place in East Region for Safety Plan

In 1995, Little League established the A Safety Awareness Program (ASAP), to encourage Little League programs to create safety plans specific to their facilities and league.  Since then, every year at the Little League Baseball World Series in Williamsport, PA, 2 leagues from each of the five United States regions are recognized for their participation in the ASAP Program.

This year HTRBA was selected as the first place winner for the East Region!  The East Region includes every Little League program in 11 states and the District of Columbia. (CT, DC, DE, MA, ME, MD, NH, NJ, NY, PA, RI, VT)

President Rob Allen and Safety Officer Joe Formica will travel to Williamsport where HTRBA will be recognized at the ASAP Awards Luncheon on August 22 for the league's accomplishment.  We will also find out which of the Regional Winners is the National ASAP Award Winner.  HTRBA also earned $500 to use towards safety equipment or our insurance costs.

We at HTRBA would like to extend our sincerest thanks to our Safety Officer, Joe Formica, who has worked hard to put our plan together for the last two years and all of the board members that contributed to the plan.  A special thanks to Rob Christian for his part in our safety plan who makes our badges every year.

All HTRBA board members, managers, coaches, players, and families should be proud of this great accomplishment and for putting our players' safety first!
